We are seeking an enthusiastic Web Developer to take on an exciting role within our busy and growing team. Reporting to the Head of Development, this role will be a hands-on position collaborating with the team to develop and support our market leading software, built predominantly on a MS oriented stack.

You will have the opportunity to work on the full development life cycle using agile methodologies. There are many opportunities to thrive in our fast-paced environment. You will become the Web expert working closely with the small but fantastic cross functional team of developers.

Job Responsibilities

The role will entail:

• Hands-on development in an agile environment (coding and unit test writing)
• Lead selection of coding languages for web and mobile friendly applications
• Scope and design UI and UX enhancements to existing product set
• A commercially aware approach to development ensuring agreed scope of works are completed within timeframe allotted
• Contribute ideas for our Continuous Improvement Process (and help to action them)
• Identify product impact and possible implementation options
• Test and review code to our coding standards for technical accuracy, standards, and functional compliance to the design
• Work within deadlines in relation to product release timelines, and consistently complete assigned development tasks in required timeframes
• Work with the team to define and agree time estimates
• Follow defined software development processes and standards

Job Qualifications

 Essential:

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in software application development
• Good Knowledge of Relational Databases (mySQL or SQL Server)
• An attention to quality and detail, with a problem solver mindset
• Self-improvement and ability to learn on the fly with the desire to add value to the organisation
• Commercial experience of the following:

1. Building responsive interfaces using HTML5 and CSS3
2. JavaScript, AJAX or jQuery
3. Working with REST API’s
4. Examples of previous work
