Our team recently stepped out of their comfort zone to take on a Firewalk in support of Society Without Abuse (SWA), helping raise awareness of domestic abuse and support the charity’s vital work.
On Friday 23 October, some of our colleagues took on the challenge of walking barefoot across hot coals as part of the SWA Firewalk. It’s no small feat, and we’re incredibly proud of them for taking part to support a cause that makes a real difference to people’s lives.
SWA is one of our chosen charities of the year, and we’re proud to support the charity through fundraising and awareness-raising activities. For us, supporting a charity is about more than raising money. It’s also about helping people understand important issues, shine a light on the challenges others face and show our support for those who need it most.
Stepping up for a cause that matters
The Firewalk is a powerful way to bring people together, challenge themselves and raise awareness of domestic abuse. Participants must overcome their nerves and take a step into the unknown, making it a memorable way to show their commitment to a cause that matters.
Domestic abuse can affect anyone, and its impact can be far-reaching. Raising awareness is an important part of helping people recognise abuse, understand the support available and know where to turn for help.
By taking part in the Firewalk, our colleagues are helping to draw attention to SWA’s work and the support it provides to people affected by domestic abuse. Every conversation, donation and show of support helps bring the charity’s work to a wider audience.
An incredible effort from our team
A huge well done to Dani, Barbara, Nakita and Katie for taking on this challenge and showing such commitment to our chosen charity.
Walking barefoot across hot coals takes courage, determination and a willingness to push beyond your comfort zone. We’re incredibly proud of our colleagues for getting involved and helping make a difference.
Barbara Cichacka-Szaj said: “We wanted to do something more hands-on than simply making a donation to SWA, and the SWA Firewalk felt like the perfect challenge. Walking over hot coals for a cause that supports people who really need it felt like a great way to support the charity, and a bit of a challenge for ourselves too”.
The team are based in different areas of the country, and so tackling the challenge together has the added bonus of continuing to build relationships within the business too. Barbara continued: “Fundraising together has brought people from different areas of the business together, and there’s something about facing a challenge that is a little bit scary as a team that builds trust very quickly. We’re already talking about it, and I’m sure the photos will give us plenty to talk about afterwards too!”
A big thank you also goes to everyone who has supported the team, whether through donations, encouragement or sharing the message. Every contribution helps support SWA and the important work it carries out.

Supporting Society Without Abuse
Throughout the year, we’re committed to supporting SWA through fundraising and awareness-building activities. Taking part in events such as the Firewalk gives us an opportunity to come together as a team while helping raise the profile of a charity that provides vital support to people affected by domestic abuse.
We’re delighted to see our colleagues getting involved and going the extra mile for a cause that matters. Their efforts are a reminder that even a single challenge can help start conversations, encourage support and make a positive difference.
